What The Casino And The Payment Provider See With MoonPay
When you pay a casino through MoonPay, the casino typically sees the deposit status (pending/confirmed/failed), the amount, the currency or crypto asset used, a timestamp, and a transaction reference it can match to your casino account. If the deposit is made on-chain, the casino (or its crypto payment processor) can also see the sending wallet address and the blockchain transaction hash, because those are needed to track confirmations and credit the balance. The casino does not need your card number or bank login for this flow, and in most setups it does not receive MoonPay’s KYC documents directly.
MoonPay, as the payment provider, sees the identity and payment details needed to run the purchase: your name, date of birth, address, email and phone (if required), and KYC materials such as an ID document and a selfie when verification is triggered. MoonPay also sees your payment instrument data (card details or bank transfer identifiers), device and network signals used for fraud checks, and the destination information for the crypto transfer (the receiving wallet address or the partner order details). For privacy, this splits data between two parties: the casino links the payment to your gambling account, while MoonPay links the purchase to your real-world identity; the on-chain transaction can still expose wallet activity to anyone who checks the address, and that history can become tied back to you if the wallet is associated with a verified MoonPay purchase.
